...in which I still feel too pale

And so ends another hectic, busy week. Made slightly better by all the freakin' sunshine we've had!

I'm seriously loving this little heatwave. Obviously, all the classrooms at work are sweltering, and my summer clothes had been put away but the upsides to the weather totally make up for things like that. I've spent my journeys home from work with my windows down pretending I'm on my way to the beach :) shame I didn't actually catch any more of a tan this week.

Last night was a hilarious meal/bowling extravaganza with John, Gem, Matt, Laura and Joe. A gorgeous dinner (which included yummy ribs) was followed by bowling lunacy, high fives, near-flashing and falling on the floor. A great night.



I also baked my first ever carrot cake (wuhu!). I tried a Greek recipe, because I knew that my parentals would be involved in the Tasting and Judging of it. Yesterday afternoon I set out all my ingredients and began.... and then realised my scales were broken. Horror set in before I decided to haphazardly guess most of the quantities. As a result I ended up with a delicious looking albeit flat cake, which my dad merrily took the piss out of, before asking for a rather large slice... in summary, it looks weird but tastes pretty nice, so I'm considering that a success!

1. I LOVE MY COURTESY CAR!! I've noticed that I feel a little carsick while driving him sometimes, but I think that's because I feel like I'm cheating on my own car. Poor Baby will hopefully be back with me next Tuesday.


2. WEEKEND!! (I'm very excited today, hello capslockkatie). This week has felt so long, but it's been enjoyable and I secretly quite like being back at work.


3. I have a lot to do this weekend.


4. I am loving this weather. Ignore what I said in my 2nd bullet point, I wish I was off work to enjoy this nice sunshine.

... in which I feel like time is flying

Bonje!

So... three weeks into my holiday and three weeks to go. Is nice.

Saturday evening was a nice little blur of good company, Harry Potter films and Chinese food. Sunday was mostly lazy with a trip out in the evening to Uxbridge to celebrate Alex turning 25.

And whilst I don't see 25 as "old", it made 23-year-old me feel slightly old. It seems like only yesterday that Cat and I were 21 and ripping into Alex because she was turning 23 and was on her way to old age. Oh gee, look at us now :)

Oh yeah, and Chelsea... wth guys? Losing 3-1 is not cool when John and I had to spend time with Man Utd supporters the very same evening!

The house-sitting adventure is going well, it's nice to have somewhere different to potter around in, and having cats running through the house all day makes a nice change to having zero cats!

As if on cue, Chelsea-cat came and invaded my lap space and stare at my screen for a few seconds to make sure she is getting a mention in le blog.

I'm loving the weather today. I took a stroll in the sunshine up to Ruislip High Street to buy bread and nibbly things (croissants ftw!!) and a little treat in the form of a Costa latte which was enjoyed in the garden with a magazine and feline company.

I think this week will fly by because it's my first week of having John off work, I have a flying lesson on Thursday and it's John's birthday shindig at the weekend. Bring it on :)

Not even a chicken burger. JUST WANNA BURGER!

Today is three weeks since I had my last meat. I well fancy a burger today, oh my God. Burger. With bacon and cheese and pickles. I need a burger.

I think I have over two weeks left. Please let here be burgers at the end of it.

My fish is still alive :) go Ruby.

Budgies are still cheeky cheeky. Gotta love 'em. But when I next find myself sans budgie (which will be sad) and find myself wanting to be ... avec budgies I think I'll go with having just the one.

Oooh. Weather :)
It's been nice and sunny for the past few days which has made me *squee* occassionally. Summer is coming. I've loved driving home from work with my windows down. Today there was even sunglasses, boo yea.

And there has also been lots of World of Warcraft in my life. This is cool.
